Passive Electronic Components and Protection Components are two classes of electronic components. Passive components that use circuit architecture would include inductors, resistors, voltage and current sources, capacitors, and transformers. Protection components are devices used to protect the circuit from overcurrent and overvoltage (static electricity) in the secondary circuits of electronic equipment. They’re used for everything from power conversion to power stability, filtering, and configuring integrated circuits. You may find your solutions or share your thought about to Passive Electronic Components and Protection Components by using our Volt.Tech support forums that are supported by thousands of contributing Volt.Tech experts.

Hello,
I have collected PFC and LLC circuit of STDES-3KWTLCP reference design. I followed the method as described in the document to amass entirety circuit. When we gave AC voltage to PFC, resistance R154 gets warm up and in the long run burn out. I double checked all the components value and their placement but couldn’t discover the cause for this behavior.
Can anybody if it’s not too much trouble help us in finding which part of the circuit or component is making this issue so that it would offer assistance us in correcting the cause?
Thank You

I’d like to utilize GPIO00 … GPIO04 as outputs to choose the utilized coil from a coil array for power transmitting.
I’ve seen the i2c addresses of the GPIO’s setup at 0x30 and taken after. I’m wondering what address is foreseen to studied or type in the GPIO information. Have I overseen anything?
Thanks in case anybody has an idea!

Hello Michael,
We as it were support huge volume for firmware customize, and it can spare outside MCU to control STWBC86.
for 5-coil array you fair have to be each gpio high or low, it can use I2CREG_GPIOx_FUNC to control.
Also you utilize equipment register to control GPIO, but it’ll make a few mistake and influence to other gpio.
So i prescribe to use I2CREG_GPIOx_FUNC to control.
Thank You

I seem not figure out the impact of the buffer: What is the difference between CY_GPIO_DM_PULLUP_IN_OFF and CY_GPIO_DM_PULLUP?
Moreover, if you need to switch the GPIO between input and output inside the program, what is the right hardware connection and setting to sue ?

Hi leojames01525,
The difference between CY_GPIO_DM_PULLUP_IN_OFF and CY_GPIO_DM_PULLUP is that the input buffer connection is disabled.
You can refer to the Drive mode description in documentation for detail of drive mode.
To change the drive mode and direction of pin( input/output you can Cy_GPIO_SetDriveMode() function in PDL or cyhal_gpio_configure() work in HAL mode.
Legitimate equipment or drive-mode for the GPIO will depend on your hardware.
-For example: CA_NEWLINE_CA – in case the output mode need the solid drive ( hi-current ) with the outside gadget ( other gadget ) has hi-impedance input at that point you’ll be able solid drive. If the external device need external pull-up but you didn’t give it at that point you’ll be able Pull-up mode.
– For input, in case your external device has clear logic( hi or low) at that point you’ll be able HI-impedance advanced, but in the event that the outside device is working with a low open-drain drive that requires an external pull-up but you do not give it at that point you’ll utilize Drive Mode pull up
Warm regards

Hi, Community,
I understand that KitProg3 or after tools (e.g. MiniProg4) are needed to debug systems created with the Modus tool box. However, I would want to use KitProg2 (e.g. MiniProg3) to load Program Flash. For the programming tool, I consider applying Modus tool box programmer or PSoC programmer. I would want to load Flash on a PSoC4100S Maximum device.

Hi,
As you understand, PSoC4100S MAX simply supports ModusToolbox.
Therefore, the PSoC Creator and PSoC programmer shouldn’t be suitable to recognize PSoC4100S MAX devices.
Generated by ModusToolbox are simply compatible with ModusToolbox programmer (older name Cypress programmer) and can not be written applying PSoC Programmer.
And KitProg2 (or MiniProg3) isn’t compatible with ModusToolbox programmer. From the above, PSoC4S MAX only supports ModusToolbox programmer and KitProg3 (or MiniProg4).
I tried the following using CY8CKIT-145, which is compatible with both ModusToolbox and PSoC Creator.
1. Create a project with CY8CKIT-145 BSP with ModusToolbox.
2. Program after building and check operation (KitProg3 firmware version2.5.1383)
3. KitProg firmware update from PSoC Programmer (KitProg3 firmware version2.1.878)
4. Program after setting the HEX file generated by ModusToolbox in PSoC Programmer.
5. It can not be read rightly because the file types are different as shown below.
Since the HEX file types are different between ModusToolbox and PSoC Creator, you can see that HEX files generated by ModusToolbox aren’t compatible with PSoC Programmer.
